Sanchez, Secretary of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, issued the following statement: “Earlier today, a posting to the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation website was made in error, and has since been replaced by the correct version.” “All data published by DLLR today on July's employment and job growth is accurate. Maryland’s private sector has now added jobs for five consecutive months. The state’s job growth rate for the January through June period was the highest for that period since 1999 and three times the national growth rate during thet period. “The data and progress speak for themselves.” Preliminary data shows a gain of 500 payroll jobs during the month in Maryland on a seasonally adjusted basis over June’s revised figures. The State’s unemployment rate was unchanged at 7.1 percent in July, compared with the national rate of 9.5 percent Since January, Maryland employers have added more than 40,000 jobs to their payrolls.
