The reporting person hud gone to the residence when his employee, Georgia Lynn Serugys had failed to show up for work on Monday, January I1, 2016 ‘and Tuesday, January 12, 2016. The reporting person alerted the apartment complex manager who went inside of the uniocked apartment and found complainant Georgia Scruggs deceased in the apartment from obvious homicidal violence, Detective Andrea Isom #9272 and assisting detectives of the Dallas Police Department homicide unit arrived al the scene and began the investigation. Trough investigation, Detective lsom determined that & allt anda cellphone belonging to complainant G. Scruggs were missing ffom the apartment. Detective Isom was told by that complainant G. Scruggs lived with her nephow, suspect Ernest William Scruggs Ir. Detevtive Isom determined that» Lonestar ard issued to complainant G. Seruggs was being used to purchase items on multiple dates after the murder at @ Welmart located in Gatland, Texas Detective Isom notified the business and Garland eficers inthe stea that supsectE, Seruggs had en active ‘unrelated warrant and frequented the business. An off duty officer at Welmart apprchended suspect. Scruggs at 555 East I-30 Freeway in Garland, Texas who was then placed under arrest on unelated charges Suspect E. Seruggs was transported to Dallas Police Department Headquarters for an interview with Detective Isom. Suspect E, Seruggs was read the Miranda waening and waived his rights, consenting to an imterview. During the course of the interview, suspect E. Scruggs provided details of the crime and evidence that were specific to this offense and unknown to the public. Suspect E.
