Dear Sir:
As an alumnus of the University of Minnesota - Class of '43 and
Class of '46 - a season football ticket holder, and a contributor
to the Williams Fund and the University of Minnesota Foundation,
I. would like to express my opinion on the controversy concerning
Playing football in the Memorial Stadium or the Metrodome.
I have attended football games in Memorial Stadium starting in
the 1930's as a Boy Scout usher and going on until the games were
moved to the Metrodome. Memorial Stadium does have a lot of
memories and excitement for me, but I think its' time has
passed. I would hope that the Board of Regents would continue
to approve the Metrodome for football games. The Dome satisfies
modern day football and modern day society, and I think the
Golden Gophers should continue to play at the Dome.
Memorial Stadium was great and holds many wonderful memories,
but I think it's a thing of the past.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
. W. LaLone,
