She is a founding member of Throwing Muses, who blazed across the US grunge scene between 1983 and 1997. Since then, she has continued to release critically adored records, both solo and with 50FootWave. Throwing Muses reformed in 2002, and Hersh began to chronicle her life, with books including Seeing Sideways: A Memoir of Music and Motherhood (2021). She launched the crowdfunding model ‘Strange Angels’ in 2007, which allows fans to subscribe to her work at different levels of investment.view less
