A few years later a friend suggested I apply for the Journalism Administration course at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Calgary. I was accepted, and spent the better part of two years trying to type with all of my fingers.
I was Editor-in-Chief of the campus newspaper and won scholarships to study Creative Writing and Poetry at the (then) Banff School of Fine Arts. I met an eclectic group of people, both instructors and students, while there, and decided I would be happier away from a newspaper typewriter.view less
