Description

Powerlessness is not meant to disempower. Although you may be powerless in the fact that you struggle with addiction and have no control over it, you are not powerless over the actions you can take because of that knowledge. By accepting the things you cannot change and understanding that it’s possible to change the things that are within your control, you open yourself up to options that can help you heal. Tonight, we talk about Powerlessness Our generous Recovered Podcast Community allows us to be self supporting and not rely on outside contributions.  If you would like to join us, there are three ways. Tonight, we talk about Powerlessness We live in a society that tells us we should be able to figure out our problems and overcome challenges on our own; that if we can’t, we’re weak. Being open to trying something new requires a great deal of courage because it’s an admission that you don’t have all the answers. What comes first to mind? What does powerlessness mean to you? Did you think you could limit your drug/alcohol use? How did you finally admit you were powerless over alcohol? How are you powerless over alcohol? What is the difference between powerlessness and helplessness? How does being powerless affect your behavior What do you have control over? How is acceptance and powerlessness related? When is will power good? When is willpower bad? How is acknowledging powerlessness liberating? WE HAVE CALLS   Final Thoughts? ______________________________________________________ We asked our listeners about this topic. Now, listeners, If you would like to participate in these weekly surveys, just email me for an invite request.
