We explore the crucial but little-known concept in occultism known as the egregore — an autonomous psychic entity created by a shared group mind. An egregore is sustained by belief, ritual, and sacrifice, relying for its existence on the devotion of an assembly of people, whether it’s a small coven to an entire country. This thought-form or collective meme can take on a life of its own, becoming an independent deity that can create despots or change history.
