Segment 1- From the Glenn Beck Program Socialism fail: Venezuelans eat dogs, cats, zoo animals as economy collapses, Dems ignore ‘lesson’ In socialist Venezuela the inflation rate, which was already by far the world’s highest, quadrupled in just the past two months. The economic crisis has left Venezuelans in an increasingly desperate and volatile situation. How bad is it? Hyperinflation in Venezuela has led to severe food shortages, record-high rates of violence, and a nearly collapsed public health system. Violent looting and protests against the lack of food, drinking water, gas for cooking and lack of medicine have become increasingly widespread. Online videos reveal people ransacking estates, killing cattle with stones and machetes. Others have been reduced to eating dogs and cats. The public transport system has been reduced by 80 percent, making work and school commutes costly, dangerous or downright impossible. Venezuelan zoos have resorted to slaughtering animals to feed others. Many zoos have have been hit by a series of animal thefts by people looking to salvage meat. And yet, Progressives are still pushing for Socialism in the US? “Progressives are making plans to push Democrats further to the left than they have ever been,” said Glenn on today’s show. “Socialism used to be something that only extremists talked about, but now the message is mainstream and supported by a vast majority of the country.” Last month, a wealthy group of progressive donors met to discuss the future of the liberal movement. An invitation to the “Way to Win: 2022 Victory Party,” held during The Democracy Alliance‘s spring conference, read, “It’s 2022 and we are celebrating policy victories across the nation: Medicare for All and Free College, and next on the agenda is Reparations.” “The group organizing this was called Democratic Alliance,” explained Glenn. “They are the Tides Foundation, just a newer version, funneling millions to progressive causes and groups on a massive scale. If they set the agenda, you can take it to the bank that the big names in the Democratic party will soon be parroting those policies.
