Description
Fear isn't a factor. It never was. And probably never will. Now there is respect. Respect for how quickly life can flash before you when a simple tiedown strap is overlooked. Bob Dumong now respects every bit of treestand safety after falling 20' to the ground in a nightmare hunt when a strap let go causing Bob's climbing sticks to break away from the tree (seconds before stepping onto his platform). Bob says he now has great respect for treestand safety despite his still fearless mentality. Bob found himself in a new deer land, with new deer rules, in an area with a deer population that dwarfs the state's population where he learned to deer hunt. Yes, the deer hunting in North Carolina is much different than the deer hunting in New Hampshire. Since moving to North Carolina, Bob has taken a deep interest in deer management on the farms near to his home and has even guided many a hog hunter. Bob describes what he's learned about game management since moving to North Carolina, gives us a detailed recall of his fall from the treestand, and shares how he's changed his approach to treestand safety.
