Description
SHR # 1519 :: REPLAY MONDAY :: The Truth About How GMO Crops Use More, Not Less Herbicides PLUS October Is Agent Orange Awareness Month :: Guest: Professor Charles Benbrook - Sharon Perry - Dee Reyes :: This show originally aired in October of 2012. Both segments discuss the health risks associated with the herbicide 2-4-D. Last week the EPA and USDA have given Dow Chemical and Monsanto the green light to develop GM crops resistant to 2-4-D and its wholesale use. American families are at great risk. PLEASE PASS THIS SHOW AROUND TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW. - Proponents of Genetically Modified crops that are Herbicide Tolerant say it's better for consumers because farmers use less herbicide and thus also less expensive to grow. Professor Benbrook's group looked at this and discovered that weeds have become resistant to Roundup's glyphosate and thus require more herbicide at a higher cost. PLUS Perry and Reyes founded Agent Orange Legacy for the families of Vietnam Veterans exposed to Agent Orange. One of the components in Agent Orange IS 2-4-D! ::
