The New York City Anti-Violence Project empowers lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and HIV-affected communities and allies to end all forms of violence through organizing and education, and supports survivors through counseling and advocacy.  The AVP’s work has taken on additional significance in the wake of the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando Sharon Sayles-Belton, vice president, government affairs & community relations for Thomson Reuters, talked with Nishan Bhaumik, Equal Justice Works Fellow, about the importance of the Anti-Violence Project’s work.
