Salvataggio di file Stata e SAS files con nomi di variabile multi-byte. Salvando i dati in formato Stata
o SAS, i nomi di variabile che contengono caratteri multi-byte (es., caratteri giapponesi o cinesi)
vengono convertiti in nomi di variabile del tipo generale Vnnn, dove nnn un numero intero.
Sorgenti dati Dimensions. Leggendo dati in formato Dimensions (Apri dati Dimensions da menu File o
GET DATA /TYPE=OLEDB), dati in lingua non inglese potrebbero non essere correttamente. Per usare
sorgenti dati Dimensions non inglesi in SPSS Statistics , salvare i dati in formato SPSS Statistics
nellapplicazione sorgente.
Librerie Dimensions DMOM. Questa versione di SPSS Statistics non funzioner con librerie
Dimensions DMOM Libraries di versione 3.5.0.1 o inferiore. Utilizzare il Dimensions Component
Pack Version 4.0(incluso nel CD di installazione di SPSS Statistics) oppure una versione 4.0 o
superiore delle librerie DMOM.
Caratteri giapponesi nella configurazione del driver Data Direct. I caratteri giapponesi non possono
essere utilizzati nei nomi e descrizioni delle sorgenti dati con la versione dei driver di database Data
Direct forniti con questa versione di SPSS Statistics. Data Direct a conoscenza di questo problema e
ha pianificato il rilascio di una patch.
SPSS Statistics non funziona con Altiris Vision User Module 3.1. C un conflitto di memoria fra
Microsoft DirectDraw e SPSS Statistics quando Altiris Vision installato utilizzando lopzione "Run
before logon". Per risolvere questo problema, installare Altiris Vision senza questa opzione, usando
invece lopzione "Add to startup menu" oppure "Run manually". Occore disinstallare e reinstallare
Altiris Vision se gi stato installato con lopzione "Run before logon" e si verificano problemi.
In modalit Unicode, le specifiche SET LOCALE nella forma generale SET LOCALE=lingua (ad es.,
SET LOCALE Italiano) non funzioneranno se SPSS Statistics installato in un percorso di directory
che non contiene caratteri ASCII a 7-bit. Per aggirare il problema, esistono due soluzioni alternative:
1. Disinstallare SPSS Statistics e reinstallarlo in un percorso di directory che contenga solo caratteri
ASCII a 7-bit.

2. Utilizzare le specifiche SET LOCALE nella forma generale SET LOCALE=lingua_paese, dove
"lingua" e "paese" sono abbreviazioni di due lettere. Ad esempio, SET LOCALE=en_us o SET
LOCALE=ja_jp.

Funzionalit non pi supportate
* Non c pi un editor dei grafici specifico per i grafici interattivi. I grafici creati con le vecchie
finestre di dialogo Interattivi e con il comando di sintassi IGRAPH vengono creati nello stesso
formato di tutti gli altri grafici, ed editati con lo stesso editor dei grafici.
* Alcune funzionalit presenti nelle vecchie finestre dei grafici interattivi e nel comando IGRAPH non
sono pi disponibili.
* Il formato Bozza del Viewer non pi disponibile.
* In SPSS Statistics 17 non possibile aprire file di output (.spo) creati con versioni precedenti di SPSS
Statistics.
* Il modulo Maps non pi disponibile.
* Le finestre di dialogo delle vecchie procedure dei moduli Trends e Tables non sono pi disponibili. In
Trends ci vale per questi comandi: AREG, ARIMA, e EXSMOOTH. In Tables per il comando
TABLES. Se si dispone di una licenza che include le vecchie procedure di questi moduli, i comandi di
sintassi continuano a funzionare.
Problemi noti
Grafici
* Uso della percentuale come statistica nei grafici creati con linterfaccia grafica o con il comando
GPL. possible scegliere fra diverse basi di calcolo delle percentuali. Se si sceglie come base il totale
di ciascuna categoria della legenda, viene in realt utilizzato il totale generale.
Accesso ai dati ed Editor dei dati
* Lettura di sorgenti dati OLE DB e Dimensions. Le sorgenti dati OLE DB e Dimensions sono
disponibili solo in Windows 2000 e Windows XP. Non possibile installare il Dimensions Data Model
e laccesso ai dati OLE DB su piattaforme non supportate. In queste piattaforme non sono disponibili
le sorgenti dati OLE DB nella composizione guidata di query e lopzione Leggi dati Dimension (da
menu File). Inoltre il comando GET DATA TYPE=OLEDB restituir un errore su sistemi operativi non
supportati.
* Lettura di sorgenti dati Oracle OLE DB. Usando GET DATA /TYPE=OLEDB per leggere sorgenti
dati Oracle, le istruzioni SQL non devono includere informazioni sul proprietario. Per esempio:

SELECT * FROM "proprietario"."tabella" legger soltanto I nomi dei campi, senza restituire alcun
dato. Per leggere correttamente la tabella, omettere il proprietario, come in questo esempio: SELECT *
FROM "tablename".
* Driver SPSS Inc. Connect ODBC per SQL Server. Il driver SPSS Inc. Connect ODBC da utilizzare
dipende dalla versione di SQL Server in uso. Utilizzare il driver SPSS Inc. OEM 5.0 SQL Server Wire
Protocol per SQL Server 7.x e 2000. Si pu inoltre utilizzare il driver Microsoft SQL Server per
accedere a SQL Server 6.x e superiori.
* Il driver SPSS Inc. OEM 5.2 DB2 Wire Protocol fornito con il SPSS Inc. Data Access Pack non
compatibile con DB2 9.1. Quando sar disponibile, si potr scaricare il driver aggiornato allindirizzo
http://www.spss.com/drivers/clientSPSS.htm.
* Oracle e SequeLink Server. SequeLink Server potrebbe non funzionare correttamente con Oracle 8.
Per questa versione, utilizzare Connect ODBC, incluso nel SPSS Inc. Data Access Pack.
* Uso di file salvati in formati SAS con SAS JMP e SAS Viewer. I file salvati in vari formati SAS da
SPSS Statistics dovrebbero funzionare in SAS. Ci sono invece problemi noti nellutilizzo di questi file
con SAS Viewer e SAS JMP 5. Queste applicazioni usano un meccanismo di lettura dei file di dati
diverso o meno stabile di quello usato in SAS.
* Limiti nei nomi di file per dati salvati in formati SAS. Questo un estratto del file README di SAS
JMP 5: "Double-byte characters should not be used in filenames when writing SAS files [from within
JMP]. This is a limitation of the SAS local data provider that is to be corrected in version 9 of SAS".
Questa limitazione vale anche per i file SAS salvati in SPSS Statistics.
* Formati SAS e limiti alla lunghezza delle stringhe. Usando SPSS Statistics per aprire file in formato
SAS, potrebbe essere impossibile leggere stringhe oltre i 255 byte. Se i dati contengono valori stringa
pi lunghi di 255 byte, SPSS Statistics legger solo i primi 255 byte.
* Cache dei dati con la lettura guidata di testo. La lettura guidata di testo fornisce unimpostazione
opzionale che inserisce automaticamente nella cache i dati importati. Per default questa opzione attiva
e la procedura crea una copia dellintero insieme di dati. Disattivando la cache automatica, SPSS
Statistics non ha accesso a tutto il file di dati, i dati sono riletti quando necessario e il numero totale di
casi sconosciuto. Inoltre I comandi Vai al caso, Copia e Incolla non funzionano correttamente
nellEditor dei dati. Per correggere il problema, inserire i dati nella cache da menu File.
* Uso della sintassi per leggere dati con ODBC. Se si usa la sintassi per leggere dati da un database con
ODBC, preferibile usare la cache dei dati. Luso della cache assicura che i dati siano nello stesso
ordine ogni volta che SPSS Statistics ha bisogno di leggerli. Assicura inoltre che le analisi non siano
influenzate da aggiornamenti del database occorsi durante lesecuzione della sintassi. Per inserire i dati
nella cache, aggiungere un comando CACHE immediatamente dopo il comando GET DATA.
* Driver ODBC SQL Server. Se si utilizza il driver SPSS Inc. OEM 5.2 SQL Server Wire Protocol,
pu essere necessario modificare le impostazioni del driver per garantire la gestione corretta dei
delimitatori nei nomi dei campi e delle tabele nelle istruzioni SQL generate dallimportazione e
dallesportazione guidata o specificate nei comandi GET DATA e SAVE TRANSLATE. Nella scheda
Avanzate della configurazione del driver, attivare lopzione "Enable Quoted Identifiers". In modalit

locale, possibile modificare le impostazioni del driver usando il gestore di sorgenti dati ODBC,
accessibile da SPSS Statistics con il pulsante "Aggiungi sorgente dati" delle procedure guidate. Se si
lavora in modalit distribuita (usando SPSS Server) contattare lamministratore del database.
Procedure
* Modelli lineari misti. Nella finestra di dialogo Casuali, se stata selezionata lopzione Includi
lintercetta, ma non sono stati specificati fattori o covariate come effetti casuali, il pulsante Successivo
non disponibile. Pertanto, per generare un sottocomando RANDOM con nessun effetto tranne
lintercetta, il sottocomando deve essere lultimo specificato nella finestra di dialogo. Se sono stati
specificati pi sottocomandi, lultimo dei quali contiene solo lintercetta, quelle specificazioni saranno
generate solo se si preme il pulsante Continua rimanendo sullultimo effetto specificato.
Altro
* I clienti che hanno una licenza delladattatore PES e aggiornano SPSS Statistics dalla versione 14
potrebbero avere problemi di archiviazione e recupero di file del piano di Complex Samples. Se ci sono
problemi, occorre ridefinire la mappatura MIME-type per questi file. Aprire Predictive Enterprise
Administrator (http://<pes server>/config/mimeManager) e cancellare le definizioni esistenti per i
file.csplan e .csaplan. Quindi ridefinirne la mappatura usando un trattino singolo (-) anzich uno doppio
(--) nella definizione del MIME type.
* Posizione della cartella dei file temporanei
In SPSS Statistics 17 la cartella dei file temporanei specificata nella scheda Posizione dei file della
finestra di dialogo Opzioni non modifica la posizione dei file temporanei creati da SPSS Statistics. La
posizione dei file temporanei pu essere controllata impostando una variabile di sistema specifica per il
sistema operativo in uso.
In Windows, SPSS Statistics controlla le seguenti variabili di sistema per stabilire dove salvare i file
temporanei:
SPSSTMPDIR
SPSSTEMPDIR
TMPDIR
TEMP
Se nessuna di queste variabili definita, SPSS Statistics utilizza C:
* I file di sintassi possono essere salvati in Unicode o nella pagina di codifica locale. Nella maggior
parte dei casi, aprendo un file di sintassi, SPSS Statistics determina automaticamente la codifica
corretta, che per talvolta potrebbe risultare sbagliata. Se si vedono tre caratteri strani allinizio del
file, chiuderlo e riaprirlo specificando Unicode come codifica. Se i contenuti sono confusi, provare una
codifica diversa. Se il problema persiste, la codifica dei caratteri di SPSS Statistics potrebbe essere
diversa da quella usata per salvare il file. Per risolvere il problema, utilizzare un comando SET
LOCALE appropriato.

* I caratteri double-byte non sono visualizzati correttamente nei file PDF creati con SPSS Statistics.
* Se si usa il pulsante Sfoglia nelleditor dei menu per selezionare un file di sintassi o uno script da
abbinare a un menu personalizzato, il valore visualizzato nel campo Nome file sar incluso fra apici.
Occorre rimuovere questi apici, altrimenti il file non sar trovato quando si utilizza il menu
personalizzato. Per i file di sintassi il problema si manifesta con un messaggio di avviso del tipo
"Impossibile iniziare ['filename']". Per gli script, nella finestra del Viewer comparir questo messaggio:
"Nessuna lingua configurata per eseguire questo script. Impossibile eseguire lo script".
* Citrix ed errore Sax BASIC. Se si esegue SPSS Statistics come applicazione pubblicata di Citrix,
potrebbe apparire un errore Sax BASIC quando si tenta di eseguire una procedura. Il problema pu
essere corretto modificando la posizione del file delle procedure globali nella scheda Script delle
Opzioni.
