My dear Brothers and Sisters,
Fisstly, | am happy to Inform you that our District Apostle Wagner came through his
operation safely, and the doctors expect him to make a complete recovery. District
Elder Mike Wagner called this morning and said he had spoken with his father, and he
is in good spirits and recovering very rapidly. Please continue your prayers. They will
be appreciated very much by him and his entire family.
Secondly, we have all been moved by the devastating events that occurred in our
nation on September 11, 2001. While they will undoubtedly have long-lasting effects
‘on communities throughout the country, the prompting of some forty years ago
becomes valid again today:
“Ask not what your country can do for you:
ask what you can do for your country.”
‘As Christians and children of God, we consider it our duty to reach out to these
communities, which constitute our country, and thereby fulfill the words of the poet,
George Cooper, as expressed in the hymn, “There Are Lonely Hearts to Cherish” (While
the Days Are Going By):
“Help your fallen brother rise.”

1am certain that all of you have prayed and will continue to pray for the deceased,
the bereaved and all those affected by these terrorist activities, as well as for our
President and the well-being of the entire country.
We have made a donation in the name of the National Organization of the New
Apostolic Church of North America in the amount of $200,000.00 to “The September 11"
Fund". This Fund was created by the United Way of New York City and The New York
‘Community Trust to help respond fo the immediate and longer-term needs of the
victims, families and communities affected by the tragic events. The September 11"
Fund is jointly administered by the two organizations, which will see that resources are
deployed effectively throughout New York, Washington, DC and other affected areas.
One hundred percent (100%) of the funds donated to The September 11" Fund are
used to support those in need as a result of this disaster.
We have directed the Fund to apportion these funds among the affected areas in a
manner appropriate to the needs of the victims and bereaved alike.
‘As New Apostolic children of God, we feel it is our special duty to reach out through
intercession, visible support and monetary aid to assist those in particular need,
thereby demonstrating that the spirit of Christ, our Redeemer, lives in us.
With special greetings of love from our Chief Apostle and District Apostle Wagner, in
which | gladly join,
Yours,
Richard C. Freund
