Re: Jeff Campbell
Honorable Judge Collier,
‘Thank you for taking time to read this letter on behalf of Jeff Campbell who will be appearing
before you for sentencing very soon. | don’t recall that I've ever written a letter such as this and |
hope you will give extra consideration to how strongly | have thought about sending this letter to
you.
Ihave known Jeff Campbell nearly his entire life. His mother was best friends with my now
deceased sister Ann all through our grade school days at St. Cecilia's. Jeff was a class mate and
best friend of my youngest brother Stephen who now resides in Florida and manages a resort
restaurant. Stephen and Jeff were like brothers growing up and we have always considered Jeff a
part of our family.
Judge Collier, Jeff made a very, very bad mistake getting involved with drugs. No excuse can or
should be made for that fact. Jeffs life has changed dramatically as the reality of his poor
decisions are now staring him in the face. Your honor, Jeff is truly a changed man. As a member
of Narcotics Anonymous, Jeff is a drug counselor and chairs many of the meetings for recovering
addicts and others struggling with drug use. Jeff is attending ICC and working towards a degree in
Construction Management. His focus has paid off and he's recently been promoted to a foreman
at Stark Excavating where he works full-time
My wife and | see Jeff and his wife Amy at mass at St. Thomas nearly every weekend with their 3 %
year old son Jack. We can’t help but notice their strong focus and faith especially during such a
difficult time for them. Jeff has told me on numerous occasions what a dreadful mistake he made
and how he would do anything to take those decisions back. He knows that option is not possible,
