A) — Travellers in foreign countries, who have a copy of this book, will be able to go to any Confessor what- soever, even to one who does not know their language ; they should show him page 4, give him the enclosed card, and then proceed as is set down for the penitent. B) — To the penitent : Read through to yourself each question : then put your finger on the number of each question in turn and say either Yes or No: if it is «yes », let me know how often you have committed the sin; this you can do by holding up your fingers (or by pointing out some number printed further down on this page’) adding a day, @ week, a month, or @ year. Be of good courage; it will be quite easy by God’s grace. 1. — How long is it since your last confession? a) How many weeks? (months? years?) — b) Is it about a year? — ce) Did you go to your duties last Easter? 2. — Have you missed your morning or evening prayers? — Do you usually leave them out? — Have you said them carelessly? 3. — Have you used blasphemous words? — Have you the habit of doing this? 4. — Have you missed mass on Sundays through your own fault? — Have you been very late for mass? — Have you been inattentive and not said prayers during mass? &. — Have you done servile work on Sunday without necessity? 6. — What is your state in life? — Single?
