AUBBED, [ made contact with Dawes. 1 re-mirandized Dawes and he waived seid rights and agreed to 2 sworn audio
Iaatement. Daves told me that he was t 2000 NW 2 Court with several other individuals when he was persistently asked by the vied
fora ride to the victim's home. Daves stated that he did not want fo give the victim a ride home, and that an argument began, Dawes
Said that he went inside the residence of 2000 NW 2 Court and armed himself with a kitchen knife, which he concealed in his back
[waistband Dawes said that he then was approached by the victim who again wanted a ride, but at this point allegedly punched Daves i
ne face. Dawes then pulled the knife and began to swing itt the victim in an attempt to get the victim away from him, but the vietim at
his point picked up a brick and allegedly threatened Dawes. Dawes then remembered that he stabbed the vietim inthe side and ran from
tte scene while being chased by an unknown black male who was thowing bricks at Dawes. Dawes stated thatthe knife was stil
limpated in the victim, as he did not pull it from the vitim’s body.
A statement taken from a witness corroborates a physical fight thet occurred and that Dawes had stabbed the victim
land then fled from the area, It should be noted that neither Dawes nor the victim live at 2000 NW 2 Court. Dawes also made no
lcormment that he was in fear for his life or safety when he premediated to arm himself with the knife. Based on the above, I find
robable cause to charge Dawes with one count of Attempted First Degree Murder pursuant to FSS 782.04 (1}(@).
