REPORT RANK DIVISION WATCH
DALLAS POLICE DEPT. | []corRECTION Sr. Cpl. Northwest Division 2
On August 5, 2009 Northwest Division Deployment Detective Debra Easton, #3985 was working in a covert
capacity concentrating on Burglary of Motor Vehicle (BMV) offenses along the Stemmons Corridor. This
area has been a haven for BMV offenses and a factor for the Northwest Division’s crime stats. Detective
Easton is known as a very experienced Detective amongst her peers and does exceptional work for the
Northwest Division when working in a covert capacity. As the supervisor assigned to this area, it can be stated
that apprehending BMV suspects is a very difficult process because of the multiple freeways in the area;
immediate escape is highly probable. However, on this date, Detectives Easton and Fries became suspicious
of several individuals in the parking lot at INN. Stemmons Frwy. Both Detectives immediately determined
that an offense was about to be committed and observed the suspects break into a motor vehicle. The
Detectives called for a cover element to conduct a traffic stop and apprehend the suspects. The suspects were
taken to the Northwest Division and a successful interrogation was conducted. Detective Easton should be
commended for her outstanding work performance and dedication to her job. Her covert experience is a strong
asset to the Northwest Division and the Dallas Police Department.
