Dear Editor,
Since 2001, Michigan has lost over 300,000 jobs and our area has been hit especially hard. Local families
are losing their businesses, their jobs and their homes. It makes one wonder what our governor and our
legislature is doing about it. From all appearances, they aren't doing anything.
Except for State Rep. Goeff Hansen.
While Lansing twiddles its thumbs, Goeff Hansen has introduced visionary legislation to eliminate the
three most pressing barriers to entrepreneurs and job creation.
Under Goeff Hansen’s bill, new businesses employing 100 workers or fewer fare exempt from paying
real property taxes, personal property taxes and the Michigan Business Tax.
Our local economy Is in serious trouble, and I’m grateful that our state representative has the courage to
break with “business as usual” and offer legislation that'll help get our economy moving again.
Thank you, Goeff Hansen.
