Dear Editor, | would like to thank Rep. Goeff Hansen for taking the initiative and introducing legislativn tu encourage job creation. Rep. Hansen’s legislation exempts new businesses employing 100 workers or fewer from real property taxes, personal property taxes and the Michigan Business Tax that are registered with the state on or after July 1, 2009. Since 2001, Michigan has lost over 300,000 jobs, and we've been hit especially hard in our arca, with some communities having unemployment rates in excess of 20%, Goeff Hansen knows that three out of every four jobs are created by small businesses and his legislation will make it easier for local entrepreneurs to create jobs, which will, in turn help our local families.
