ELASH FORWARD Pilot “No More Good Days" Written by David S. Goyer & Brannon Braga ELASH_ FORWARD “No More Good Days” A MAN IS RUNNING From his pace and intensity, we might think he’s fleeing for his life. WIDEN —— BXT. CANYON ROAD - DAWN On the outskirts of a recently developed suburban community in Calabasas, California. The MAN runs alone, drenched in sweat from his exertion. This is MARK BENFORD (30s). His eyes remain fixed on the road ahead, which is shrouded in early morning fog, bordered by thick scrub and steep terrain. We can’t see where the road leads. Mark picks up the pace. Runs faster. Eyes never wavering from the path ahead. Running is the only thing that keeps his demons at bay. Suddenly —— -- SOMETHING BOLTS out of the brush ahead -- A LARGE DEER forces Mark to veer sharply left. He loses his footing and stumbles as the deer vanishes into the mist. OFF MARK On his hands and knees, breathing hard. INT, BENFORD HOUSE - SHOWER - MORNING Mark under the spray, wincing as he washes blood and gravel from his knee. INT. BENFORD HOUSE - KITCHEN - MORNING Wark is at the stove, cooking a fried egg im the hole of a slice of bread (a “Moon Over Miami”). He sees: The gardener, HECTOR (50s), trimming hedges by the curb. MARK Hey, Hector, would you mind having your guys check the sycamore in the back? Doesn’t look s0 good. Might need more water. HECTOR Absolutely. MARK ‘Thanks. We notice a Jetta pulling up in front of the house. NICOLE (19), good-looking, climbs out, smiles at Mark. (CONTTNURD
