    Chapter 1

Jane Ann Kremetz experienced an interesting mix of exhaustion and exhilaration as she hurried along the snow packed street. The Christmas Stroll always had that effect on her. Jane Ann was officially off duty for the rest of the evening. The Stroll would officially begin in a few minutes, and she intended to enjoy the event to the fullest.

Dressed in her warmest down jacket and ski pants, her fingers protected by warm woolen mittens knitted in a snowflake pattern, Jane Ann pulled her jacket’s fur trimmed
