The plant family Annonaceae is known for thousands of edible species of fruit plants. Most of these plants are perennial trees that prefer warm humid tropical climate for their growth and fruit production. Among these fruit trees, the most popular fruit trees are Annona reticulata (custard apples), Annona squamosa (sugar apples), Annona muricata (sour sop) and Annona cherimola (cherimoya).
