3rd wave ‘hurricane’ looms

VACCINATION delays and relaxed preventions have been cited as triggers for what the Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG) calls a category 5 Covid hurricane. The announcement was made during a briefing yesterday ahead of the Human Rights long weekend and the upcoming Easter holidays.

GPG said the vaccination rollout will only start in May, as we head into winter. By then, the rollout will have very little impact on the third wave and herd immunity is unlikely
