You Must Be Joking, Lord, You Want Me to Do WHAT?

About this ebook
This book is the third of three titles written to challenge you to build up your faith ‒ and when God asks you to do something ... do it! Don’t question it, but believe that God does know what He’s doing ‒ and because of His love for you, knows what is best for you, and that He has great plans for you as you stretch yourself to serve Him.
Like Chuck’s two other titles, there are questions in the back of each chapter. Please do them either alone, or with a friend or Bible study group. This will help you to know the WHAT that God may be asking you to do. The first book, You’ve Got To Be Kidding, Lord, You Want Me To Tell WHO About You? was written to challenge you to witness for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The second book, You Can’t Be Serious, Lord, You Want Me To Love WHO? was written to challenge and help you to love as God loves.

Introduction
Thank you for downloading this book and I hope you will read it carefully and thoughtfully. It is the third book in a trilogy if we can call it that, to challenge you in your walk with Jesus.
The first book, You’ve Got To Be Kidding, Lord, You Want Me To Tell WHO About You? was written to challenge you to witness for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And as Acts 1:8 says, He will give us the power of the Holy Spirit to do just that.
The second book, You Can’t Be Serious, Lord, You Want Me To Love WHO? was written for you to love as God loves, going through the Love Chapter ...
1 Corinthians 13 and the Fruit of the Spirit ... Galatians 5:22. These Scriptures reveal God’s love and our love for one another.
This third book that you are reading now, You Must Be Joking, Lord, You Want Me To Do WHAT? is written to challenge you to build up your faith, and when God asks you to do something ... do it! Don’t question it, but believing that God does know what He’s doing and because of His love for you, knows what is best for you, and that He has great plans for you as you stretch yourself to serve Him.
Like the Love book, there are questions in the back of each chapter. Please do them alone, with a friend or a Bible study group. It will help you to know the WHAT that God may be asking you to do.
Some stories you may have heard before, so just enjoy them again. Some Scriptures I have repeated in this book. But I feel it’s important to emphasize the message of why this book was written. Besides, reading or hearing scriptures over and over is a way God teaches us to understand them better. Sometimes He wants to teach us something that passed us by the first time we heard or read that Scripture.
So, enjoy the book and get from it what God wants you to learn and write your answers to the questions at the end of each chapter. Writing things down helps you to remember them longer as God speaks to your heart.
Blessings, and stay safe in the arms of Jesus,
Chuck

Chapter 1
Has the Lord ever asked you to do something you didn’t want to do? Maybe witness to your next-door neighbor, go help feed the homeless, or maybe sell your home and possessions and go to a third world country and share Jesus? How about smuggling Bibles into a Communist country or going to prison for sharing your faith in Jesus?
Some of these things can be fearful. Some of the above I have done and maybe some of you have also done them.
Have you ever said, "You must be Joking, Lord, You want me to do WHAT?"
Remember Jesus Christ our Lord would not ask you to do anything He would not do Himself.
To be ready to serve Him and do WHAT He asks us to do, we must have faith, and at times lots of it.
There are over 270 times that the word faith is used in the Bible. The basic meaning of faith is trust and commitment to God. So, if you believe in God and have faith that Jesus is the Son of that God and that He died and rose from the dead ‒ and He, Jesus, has become Lord of your life ‒ then sometime in the future you will be ready to do whatever Jesus will ask you to do.
Then you will realize that He’s not joking when He asks you to do WHAT!
So, if it takes faith to serve Jesus, and since we’ve just read that there are over 270 times the word faith is used in the Bible, then faith must be very important to a Christian.
