Tell us about yourself.

I’m a cookbook author and food stylist, though most of the time I feel like the handmaid to a small and very demanding border collie. She has supersonic hearing from the other side of the house if I’m opening a pot of yoghurt or Philadelphia cheese, and she has a bell on the front door to ring for attention. I often feel like one of the downstairs staff from Downton Abbey.

What were you like as a kid?

Bookish! I spent most of my time reading, or raiding the dressing-up box with my younger sister to play Robin Hood or Cinderella. I was always the prince, as I was taller, and I took that further at university by going through a Lord Byron / pantomime hero phase wearing a cravat and ruffled shirt. I still haven’t managed to Marie Kondo the shirt, so I’m hoping someone hosts a fancy-dress party in the not-too-distant
