    Cryptomedas there are many, many. But there are only two specials: Bitcoin and Ethereum.

    You will have heard thousands of things about Bitcoin, both good and bad. Since it is one of the biggest scams in history until it is the new digital gold or the currency that will replace the rest of the fiat currencies. We and the vast majority of the crypto community think the second way, but many other people are not sufficiently aware yet and they think negatively about Bitcoin. You know how we humans function: when we don't know something, we reject it.

    However, the only reality that exists regarding Bitcoin is that, not only does it propose a renewed monetary system apart from manipulable and unreliable entities such as banks and governments, but, with its birth back in 2009, it brought low the arm one of the greatest technological revolutions in history, at the height of the Internet itself.

    It is about Blockchain technology -or Block Chain-, which allows any type of transactions between two participants to be carried out in a transparent, secure, private, irreversible and immediate way, all without the need for an intermediary to trust.

    At first, it was thought that this technology was only applicable to Bitcoin. Later, other cryptocurrencies emerged that were also based on Blockchain and tried to improve some aspects of Bitcoin, but kept referring to a monetary aspect. In other words, Blockchain was only used to transfer economic value.

    But could this fantastic technology be used for other uses?

    Apparently, and from what a young Russian named Vitalik Buterin showed us in 2014, yes. It's possible.

    Let's talk about Ethereum

    You could say that Ethereum collects all the best of Bitcoin and Blockchain technology, and applies it, not only to the monetary system, but to all other areas of our life.

    Where Bitcoin pretends to be an alternative monetary system to the current ones, Ethereum broadens that vision and tries to realize what until now was a simple utopia: returning personal power to each individual in our society.

    Through decentralized applications -DApps- and smart contracts -Smart Contracts-, Ethereum lays the foundations of a new era on the internet, where the user is sovereign of their money and their privacy. The future uses of this platform are so many and so varied that even its own creators are beyond reason.

    To take a real example, currently, 90% of the cryptocurrencies listed on the stock market are projects built on Ethereum. Do you realize the scope of this? Possibly not, but you are about to find out.

    WHAT IS ETHEREUM?

    A universe of absolute freedom

    Imagine a world in which you did not depend on anyone, in which you could decide on your whole life without anyone being able to limit or manipulate it. Think of an environment in which all the actions were agreed with total transparency, where all the possible consequences were written and that they could not be modified, so that only you with your choices could design your own path in life. Can you imagine a universe in which you could decide everything that affects you and how it does it?

    It would be a world in which a promise could not be broken and in which it would be impossible for someone to break his word and his commitment, with no option to alter what was promised. A universe of absolute trust, of incorruptible honor, which would allow each one to be the master of their decisions and choose their own destiny without the impositions of others.

    In this idyllic world, the control elements would have nothing to do, they would play no role as their function is irrelevant and they would disappear. Because, what are they going to control if all the actions are clean, fair, agreed and it is impossible to break the consensus?

    The disappearance of these control elements would open a range of possibilities in all aspects that you can imagine. The existence of intermediaries forces us to play under their rules. They establish the rules of the game, ones that can also change. Although they have promised some conditions, they can suddenly establish others. And their decisions are ultimately what determine your existence.

    Think about how these intermediaries influence your life. From the moment you get up and wash your face, you are already depending on them. What do you pay for the water you use? The marketer could change its price at any time, and you without knowing. Or worse, finding out when you pay the bill. The same with the electricity bill that you use to heat breakfast in the microwave. You go to work and your boss greets you telling you that he is going to lower your salary. That is not what you had agreed, but look, it turns out that there are economic readjustments in the company. To top it off, it tells you that you have to sell more. But it is difficult for you to do it because it turns out that the suppliers have suddenly changed their conditions to the company and you have to raise the price to meet your sales goal. This was not the case when you took the job. Someone is breaking their word.

    You finish your workday and you are going to get some money to enjoy your free time. When you withdraw the money, an unexpected commission appears at the ATM. They charge you three euros for the operation. This had not happened to you before, but it is a new rate that the bank has just implemented because, of course, it also has to make adjustments. And that you have not signed anything to accept it. They just changed it just because.

    You go to the movies and you realize how expensive everything has become. You can't even buy popcorn anymore. A few years ago, with half the expense, you watched twice as many movies. It is what has inflation and abuse. And you can't do anything because the monetary system depends on a government that sets the conditions and that makes you lose purchasing power over time without you being able to do anything.

    You go home feeling ripped off and go to sleep. But suddenly you get a message saying that tomorrow you have to go to work two hours before, forcing you to change the alarm clock time. You know that it is not fair, that surely they will not even pay you those hours that according to your contract, should be extra and be better paid. But if you complain, they throw you out, like other colleagues. And that your contract is fixed.

    Someone is breaking his word in your day to day. Many are breaking their promises, and the worst thing is that you know it but cannot do anything, because you depend on them. You live in a centralized world, where everything you do depends on others who impose their conditions.

    Ethereum offers a universe where the agreements are unbreakable: where you decide what you pay at all times for electricity and water, without being able to make unjustified changes, or even being able to supply yourself or agree to energy exchanges in a free trade of the electricity; where neither your salary nor working conditions can be modified without your accepting it before, nor where neither a bank nor a government can change the value of your money ... That, to give a few examples from among the billions to which it could affect the Ethereum universe. The intention of Ethereum is therefore to create an environment of unbreakable agreements that can be made independently to end the centralizing elements that emerge as a necessity and that have absolute control to change the conditions at will. Ethereum is a level of freedom that no society has ever been able to enjoy before.
