One year since that landmark ethical veganism case
Although last year was a rollercoaster for many, the start of 2020 was victorious for vegans. This is because almost this time in 2019, a UK employment tribunal ruled that ethical veganism should be protected under discrimination laws. The ruling had a knock-on effect on companies and organisations as they had to re-evaluate their ethics to ensure their vegan employees would not feel discriminated against.
The man who pioneered the case was ethical vegan Jordi Casamitjana. We chat to Jordi about what the past year has been like for him, his new book, the rise in vegan-related hate crimes, companies being more open to veganism, and what’s next for him.
