The latest album from U.K. progressive rock mastermind Steven Wilson, titled , could very well be the least guitar-driven release he’s ever put his name to. The six-string sounds that did make the cut, however, are truly, the elaborately conceptual music weaving through different genres, with some exquisitely lavish slapback echoes on his clean-ish Fender tones. The biggest surprise arrives at the end in the form of some aggressive guitar stabs, slicing away at the ear in a blur of unpredictable mayhem.
