Teachers’ mental well-being a worry

AS THE country’s 65 909 teachers gear up to greet the returning children to their classrooms for the 2021 academic year, teacher unions have expressed concern for the mental health of their members.

Public schools will be in full swing next week and while teacher unions have agreed to the opening date of February 15, unions say the Department of Basic Education has not provided enough psychological support to educators.
