BEATING THE ELEMENTS

Having missed the last 20 winters in the UK, I was ready for a damp, grey, cold one, but up until Christmas I was surprised. Not sure if I had rose-tinted glasses on, mind. But now, it’s much colder and winter’s arrived.

When I was younger, I’d brave the elements no matter what. A bit like the Brownlee boys. I see them running in shorts and vest in a snow storm. Bloody mental. Must be a Yorkshire thing. They say no bad weather conditions for training, just wrong equipment, and to a degree that’s so true. The only exception is crazy icy conditions that are just crazy for running or biking.
