Make an earflap aviator hat for everyone! This adventurous beginner friendly pattern comes in all the sizes from Newborn size up to Adult L/XL (the hat is stretchy, it will fit comfortably up to 24.2 in/62cm head circumference). It can be either knit in the round, or it can be knit flat, there are instructions for both. This pattern’s gauge is 15 stitches in 4 inches/10 cm in stockinette stitch. There is a list of recommended yarns and needle sizes for each yarn listed in the pattern. You will need yarn (up to 60 grams for the smallest size, up to 130 grams for the largest size), knitting needles to obtain the gauge, a tapestry needle to weave in the yarn ends. A stitch marker, two buttons, sewing needle and a matching thread to sew on the buttons, three stitch holders. If you are making the hat that is knit in the round, you will need either double pointed needles or circular needles for magic loop. If you are making a hat that is knit flat, you can use any type of knitting needles.
