Sibongile was love and humility

A PROLIFIC singer, a teacher, a cultural activist, an ambassador of heritage, a mother and friend. These are just some of the words used to describe legendary singer Sibongile Khumalo whose death sent shockwaves across South Africa this past week.

Khumalo, the South African opera and jazz legend with international renown, died on Thursday at the age 63, from natural causes. She had been ill for some time.

And while for many her spiritual and potently soulful music will remain as a remembrance of the giant figure whose beautiful voice echoed across the world, and stood true
