There were plenty of fish to keep competitors busy at Aldeburgh, but mostly undersized whiting. The fish that counted consisted of whiting, dabs, flounders, pouting and rockling.

The top three, who were in the same section, all caught 21 fish, with winner Cameron Turner, of Felixstowe, on peg 67, recording 384 points, which converted to 8-0-0. His catch included the heaviest fish, a 12oz whiting. Second was Steve Yallop, of Colchester, on 336pts (7-0-0) from peg 69 and Matt Frost, of Ipswich, with 328 (6-13-0) at peg 70.
