A FAKE TAN SAVED MY LIFE

Squeezing the fake tan onto the applicator mitten, I smoothed the bronze liquid over my body.

I’d just turned 32, and for my birthday party that weekend, I’d chosen a burnt orange coloured dress with spaghetti straps.

I never wore fake tan, but to pull off the pretty open-backed frock, I’d need a golden glow.

It was Wednesday, but I figured I’d better get prepped now, just in case.

If it’s terrible I can scrub it off! I thought.
