Foreword
Love Will Grow Your Soul
Relationships are living things—they require tending. Like plants, they flourish when they are cared for. Our ended relationships remind us of how much nurturing was withheld, how many resentments piled up, how much communication never occurred, how many needs went unfulfilled. They challenge us to see how we were lazy last time and what we must do differently in order to cultivate our next relationship.
Whenever we feel love, wherever we are changed by love, the soul is at work. But in a given time frame, it may not look right. You can say, Well, this is the last guy on earth I thought I would have fallen in love with, but I am feeling love here.
That’s the soul at work. I think when we follow our hearts we’re being led by the soul. We can trust love. Love is always a journey, and people want it to be a destination. Some think, Okay, I’ve got that nailed down. Now I can go and work on my career. But the real experience of love is a continually unfolding journey.
