About this ebook

I am a firm believer that peace, love and joy flows from within. These things come from God and we were created for the purpose of sharing them on earth for His glory. All three work together to help illuminate our light and we are to be protectors of that which God has given us. In life, there will be many things we encounter, both good and bad, but when we hold on to the promises of God, even the bad things we encounter will become the tools to strengthen and prepare us for the greatness that lies ahead. Sometimes it will be necessary to build a wall of God's promises and affirmations to get us through that moment but to also remind us that God will restore us and get the glory from it. It is my prayer that "Words from My Wall" will encourage you to seek God in every situation, trust Him in your journey and be reminded that you are victorious. Be encouraged knowing no one or nothing can take away the things only God can give, and the battle is already won.

    Introduction

On the evening of March 3, 2017, I received from a Prophet these words, you have a ministry for broken women and God is getting ready to use you in that area. I was overly excited about the journey and I started that same night seeking God on the mission and the purpose I was to fulfill with the word I had received. One week later I received a letter for a job interview for a place I would have never imagined being employed. To some, that position may not have meant much but to me it meant everything. Since early adulthood, I had long desired to be a mentor for women who had experienced abuse and hardships. After all, I had certainly experienced my share of it and was excited to share testimonies of God’s love, grace, and mercy with the women. After the letter, came the interview and then my big day. The process was so easy, I knew without a doubt that God’s hand was all over it. #April2017

I was about six months into the position when I started experiencing a great deal of what I now know as spiritual warfare. I was now fighting the spirits of depression, rejection, illness and all which was introduced to me on the journey, as well as that which had resurfaced from past experiences. I started to see an ugly side of me resurface that I thought had been buried for good. To counterattack what the enemy was trying to accomplish, I started waking up extremely early to spend my mornings before work journaling and communing with God for strength. I knew I was in a place where God had sent me, but the evil in the environment was so great that I found myself questioning the journey so many times. Whenever the questions came about, God would always remind me (through different encounters with certain staff and the women I encountered) of the words that had been spoken to me through the Prophet. This was God’s way of assuring me that His presence was with me and that this journey was divine.

I would wake up every morning interceding, praying, praising and worshipping God for the women and the staff I was preparing to have a daily encounter with. Have you ever walked in a place and immediately experienced darkness? This is when I realized that I was literally in the enemy’s camp. That experience not only allowed me to serve in the capacity in which I had been called, but it also became the labor process for my daily journal to be birthed. Most of the devotionals and poems in this journal were written early mornings during my prayer time and preparation to do what God had anointed me to do. Most importantly, time with God taught me that joy, love and peace come from Him and no one or nothing can take away what He has given us unless we allow it.

Words from my Wall reflects the description of my mirror and the wall of a tiny corner in my bedroom where I sat daily with sticky notes, a pen and journal to commune with God. Although I only served in that capacity and in that Institution for a short period of time, that moment helped to shape me, give birth to the prayer warrior I am today, and serve as the labor room for Words from my Wall. It is now three years later from the time that journey started and I am
