HOW HEALTH EXPERTS dodge A COLD

It’s not called a ‘common’ cold for nothing – most adults catch two or three colds a year, and for children, many more. Caused by a virus, it’s not serious, but it can make you feel terrible with aching muscles, shivers, blocked sinuses and a sore throat.

Sadly, the virus also spreads easily. When someone sneezes, around 40,000 droplets are expelled from the nose, which can travel up to 30ft. Those infected droplets then sit on surfaces for up to three hours, ready to infect the next person who touches them. So in a year where we’re more vigilant than ever when it comes to swerving illness, what do these GPs do to avoid catching the sniffles?
