Pet obesity in the spotlight this month

THIS October is Pet Obesity Month and local celebrities Ayanda Thabethe, Angel Campey, Janez Vermeiren, Darren Simpson and Msizi James are among those who are raising awareness about the dangers of pet obesity.

Many South Africans grapple with obesity, with more than half of the adults in our country classified as medically overweight or obese, according to the most recent WHO data, and pets are also in running the risk of being obese too.
