There came a time when the people of God no longer do the things God wants and He had to send a person to God’s people and the people of God had to kill the person whom God sent so that the people of God will have everything that God left for the people to take care of in God’s absence and when the people of God killed the person God sent the people had think that is over. Introduction

There came a time when the people of God no longer do the things God wants and He had to send a person to God’s people and the people of God had to kill the person whom God sent so that the people of God will have everything that God left for the people to take care of in God’s absence and when the people of God killed the person God sent the people had think that is over. The person whom God sent is Jesus Christ whom the Jews made to suffer as if to say Jesus Christ was a sinner God sent Jesus Christ to the people of God to save the people of God from the curse that comes from being unable to keep the whole laws which was given to Jews. The people of God did not know that by the people of God killing the Savior that the people of God will be set free from the sin of Adam which was upon the whole world. You will learn from this book how that the sin of Adam is the very thing that separated man and woman from God. You will also learn that the sin of Adam which separated man and woman from God has been taken care of by the death of Jesus Christ whom Jews killed. You will find out what God mean when He said in the Bible that Adam was eating from The Tree of Life and later ate from The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. You will also find out that The Tree of Life and The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil all exist till this present time.

Chapter One: God’s Stance On Tithe

Tithe is a type of offering Christians give to God in appreciation for what He has done for Christians. Tithe as the name suggest is a tenth which is 10% of whatever a Christian received from God.

We shall together be answering an obvious question in this book which is does Religion’s stance on tithe comply with God’s stance on tithe today. We also will be searching the Bible to allow us to answer the question of whether Religion’s teaching on tithe agrees with God’s stance on tithe today.

God’s Stance On Tithe Under the Old Covenant

There are two covenants God made with the people who are everybody on earth which is written in the Bible. The two covenants in the Bible which God made with man and one of the covenants no longer exist which is the reason it is called old covenant and the second covenant is the existing covenant and is called the new covenant. The person who reads the Bible he/she will find everything that took place during the time of the old covenant recorded in the Old Testament of the Bible while everything that took place during the time of new covenant recorded in New Testament. Now regarding our topic under discussion which is tithe I have decided to look at it under the both covenants so that nobody will come to a person who have read this book with scriptures from the old covenant and try to confuse a person who have read this book with the old covenant scriptures. Ordinarily we should not have any business looking at what happened during the time of the old covenant because Christians were not part of that covenant as it was a covenant between God and a tribe called Israelites whom God tested the covenant with before making the new covenant where the whole world could benefit from if they were all Christians. Observe that I looked at old and new covenants when we discussed alcohol in the previous chapters of this book however, the Christian who is under Grace he/she should not have any business looking at the old covenant scriptures because it was given only to  Israelites and not Christians. Let us now proceed to our main discussion for this chapter which is tithe by looking at every scripture that made mention of tithe just the same way we did for strong drink in the previous chapters.

    Numbers 18:24

But the tithe of the children of Israel, which they offer as a heave offering unto the LORD, I have given to the Levites to inherit: therefore I have said unto them, Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance. In the above scripture which is old covenant scripture God commanded that Canaanites lands which the Israelites inherited as a gift from God be shared among the twelve tribes of Israel. One thing to notice in the inheritance sharing among Israelites is that one of the twelve tribes of Israel was not given an inheritance of any sort and the tribe without inheritance is the Levites who all descended from Levi who is one of the sons of Israel. The Levites had no land with Israelites because, God chose the Levites to serve as priests in God’s tabernacles all through the old covenant time. The coming of Jesus Christ changed the priesthood order in the sense that priest of God can now come from any tribe in the world. The Levites who were the priest of God received 10% of everything Israelites got which they offered to God as a tithe. During the time of the old covenant Israelites gave their tithe to God by dividing into ten the proceeds of Israelites’ farmlands and also of Israelites’ animals and every other thing they got increase on.

The above scripture assuming it is a new covenant scripture will mean a person giving 10% of his/her net gain to God and net gain means what a person has left after subtracting all his/her expenditure from their profit. For example: The person who makes $10,000 as a total sales the person should subtract total cost of that sales which include all fixed and variable cost as well as interest and taxation before the person will calculate his/her tithe. Let us assume fixed cost to be $5000 and variable cost $3000 and we assume interest to be $500 and tax payable $500.

    Solution                                     $

    Sale                                         10,000

    Fixed cost                                 (5,000)

    Variable cost                            (3,000)

    Interest payable                          (500)

    Taxation                                      (500)

    Balance                                      1000

    Tithe @ 10%                               100

Therefore the person’s tithe amount will be $100.

From the above calculation when a person makes $10,000 and has a total expenditure of $9,000 that now means the person will have $1,000 to pay his/her tithe from and with 10% tithe rate the person’s tithe amount will be $100.

In the case of the person who earns salary the person’s tithe amount will be arrived at using the same method used above. For example: The person who earns $5000 as salary the person should subtract their taxation and cost of transportation to work except the employer pays the person’s transportation cost. Let us assume the transportation cost to be $1000 and that the employer does not pay and taxation to be $1000.

    Solution                                              $

    Salary                                            5,000

    Transportation to work                   (1,000)

    Taxation                                          (1,000)

    Balance                                           3,000

    Tithe @10%                                       300

Therefore the person’s tithe amount is $300

In both cases taxation is to be subtracted even if it is not to be remitted to the tax authority at that time which may be as a result of the person’s country’s taxation system.

    Leviticus 27:30-32 (GNB)

One-tenth of all the produce of the land, whether grain or fruit, belongs to the LORD. If a man wishes to buy any of it back, he must pay the standard price plus an additional twenty percent. One out of every ten domestic animals belongs to the LORD. When the animals are counted, every tenth one belongs to the LORD. In the above Bible verse God repeated His command to the Israelites demanding them to bring 10% (one-tenth) of Israelites’ increase which includes produce and animals to God.
