Author’s Note
I think that one of the biggest reasons that people fail to move beyond the idea phase of entrepreneurship is fear. The fear of failure. The fear of success. The fear of ridicule. The fear of the unknown. I have actually seen it physically paralyze some folks like they were turned into stone from an evil spell.
What is the worst that can actually happen my friends?
I am going to share some of the lessons that I have learned throughout an 18-month journey of my own, which is intended to ease some of your own fears. Since I have obviously written this, there is your proof that I have survived it all and lived to write about it!
Another reason that people don’t act is due to over analyzing everything to the point that they never actually do anything. This gives birth to all kinds of excuses and claims of being a prisoner of circumstance.
No one knows what they don’t know, but not doing anything isn’t going to magically give you answers. There is nothing more valuable than first hand, life experience. Failing to take action will ensure that your life stays right where it is (or even regresses), without the promise of anything better.
If this is the path that you really want, you just need to take a chance and do something.
I have had the privilege of learning the hard way that entrepreneurship can be a taxing journey that requires both patience and determination in overcoming obstacles. The allure for me has always been the uncapped earning potential, involvement with truly meaningful work, control over my time, and making a massive impact on other people. Remember that if this were easy, everyone would do it and I assure you that they are not going to. Even of the ones that try, an overwhelming majority of them fail in a few years or less. If the corporate world is the major leagues, then entrepreneurship is like striving for the all-star team.
I am not trying to scare you or come off as pessimistic, but I feel like I owe you a reality check. Taking risks is required if you want the chance to earn a reward. I do not believe that the entrepreneurial route is for everyone because you will experience a lot of failures and unforeseen setbacks. Most people have a very low tolerance for both, but since you have invested in this ebook, I know that you are different. You have already done more than most want to be
entrepreneurs ever will. Spending your hard earned money on an investment into yourself is a big deal and you should feel good about it.
If you are currently on the same path, my hope is that this resource will save you both time and money. Again, for those who decide to the test the waters of starting a business, a significant majority of the people will fail within a few short years. This is usually because they run out of time or money. When I say time, I am specifically referring to the time needed to make livable income before being forced to go back to work for someone else. My sincere hope is that this information will minimize the chances of that happening to you. You only really fail when you decide to stop trying.
If you are considering a startup of your own or if you have one already, this ebook was written especially for you. This world needs more independent thinkers who are willing to take risks and disrupt mainstream practices, with the hope of a better outcome. I would like to congratulate you again on
