    I’m A Broken Vessel

You created me from the dust of the ground,

To be in the image of You.

I was nothing more than mere particles of dust,

But You gave me form and the breath of life too.

Oh, but how Your creation has destroyed itself

Because of the devil’s scheming lies.

Thinking that we as human beings can be as God,

Rising up above the heavenly skies.

If only we would come to the knowledge,

That You are the Potter and we’re just clay.

    Broken vessels at best that we truly are;

Yet, You can fix us if we ask today.

I’m unworthy for Your hands to even touch,

This marred-up vessel that I’ve become.

Yes, cracked, broken, and stained indeed,

By the evils of sin that I have succumb.

Nevertheless, You love me with an unconditional love,

That only You as my Creator can do.

You, my God, are the Potter and I am Your clay,

Please mend this vessel as I submit to You.

    DAY 1

Adam – A Touch of Love

Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image,

in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. (ESV)

God created a beautiful world full of splendor. He made trees, plants, animals, sea creatures, the sun, moon, and stars as well as lakes, flowers, birds, and grass. All that He had made was good. Yet, there was something major missing. This something required His divine touch and was not to be made like everything else that He had spoken into being. He decided to make man. Genesis 2:7 Then the

    Lord

God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature. (ESV) The first man would not come from the womb of a woman nor have an umbilical cord for the doctor to cut. Nevertheless, God would speed up the process and literally take matters into His own two hands.

God formed man out of the dust of the ground and breathed into him His own air. God took the time to give man His special touch and warmth. He created every organ, muscle, cell, tissue, limb, and unique features that identified him as a male and would then do the same to create the first woman. God is a God of intimacy and therefore, just as babies bond with their mothers, man was able to bond with God. Jeremiah 1:4-5 The

    Lord

gave me this message: "I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart

and appointed you as my prophet to the nations." (NLT)

Babies need and want to be touched, so God gave man what he needed and that was the touch of His own hands. Babies love to be cuddled, so God cuddled man when He took him by the hands and held them as He created every crease, fingerprint, bone, and flesh that caused them to be.

Man needed love just as babies do because he did not have the nine-month bonding and growth process as the other humans who would follow. God gave him the heart of the Father, so that it could beat to His rhythm; therefore, showing man love that begins only with God. Man did not have to go to school to learn his ABC’s or 123’s. God gave man all the knowledge that he needed, so that he could name even the animals and then his future mate.

    Genesis 2:19 So the

    Lord

God formed from the ground all the wild animals and all the birds of the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would call them, and the man chose a name for each one. (NLT) God’s love for Adam began with His personal touch and it was a touch of love.

God, who is our Potter loves you and thought that you were so lovable, He created you to be a unique vessel for Him. Isaiah 64:8 But now, O LORD, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand. (ESV) He was not afraid to express His love for Adam by being in touch with His feelings. Everything about Adam was made from a loving God who thought that it was not good enough to just speak him into existence, but God knew that Adam needed the touch of His hands. God spoke some things into existence, but He called Adam by name. The Potter is calling you by name today. Are you able to hear His voice? Listen quietly! He
