Here's an Introduction of What You're About to Discover in this Premium Summary of The Autobiography of Malcolm X: As Told to Alex Haley by Malcolm X and Alex Haley :
The Autobiography of Malcolm X by the famous Black-Muslim activist and Alex Haley has everything the reader needs to know about Malcolm X and his philosophy. It includes the crucial moments of his life, like his mother's pregnancy and his father’s death under questionable circumstances. It is the result of over two years of interviews conducted by Alex Haley, from 1963 to 1965, when Malcolm was assassinated. The narrative focuses on Malcolm Little’s life, from childhood to his becoming Malcolm X. However, it is written in a style that allows the reader to find out how his philosophy developed into the defender of human rights that he was. He focused on Black, Muslim Americans and had a pan-African discourse. Nowadays, the book is still widely read and represents an excellent testimony to the American Civil Rights Movement.
The Autobiography of Malcolm X has sold millions of copies in the United States and worldwide. The New York Times called it “extraordinary” shortly after its release, while Variety described it as “mesmerizing”. Nowadays it’s considered a classic American autobiography and motivated authors such as James Baldwin to write works on the activist.

Executive Summary of The Autobiography of Malcolm X
Did You Know?
Malcolm X is one of the most popular figures of the American Civil Rights Movement. Even though his fight is widely considered as parallel to that of Martin Luther King, Jr., he encouraged Black Americans to defend themselves by any means necessary. Similar to the pacifist leader, he was killed by a gunshot on February 21, 1965.

Malcolm X had experienced a life fraught with battles before becoming the person that the American history remembers today. The conception of his autobiography saw light in the midst of a revolution taking place in his country. By then, he was not only a public personality admired by many, but also one of the biggest faces of the American Civil Rights Movement. He was not always that man, though. He had to live through death, violence, prison,
