Seriously
There Is No Need To Perish
The revelation of Jesus Christ that God gave to Him of things that must shortly take place, and Jesus sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John who bore witness to the Word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ to all things he saw. Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy and keep those things that are written in it, for the time is near (Revelations 1:1–3).
How many of us know it is written (Hosea 4:6)? God Himself said we perish because of a lack of knowledge. Well, it’s true. We perish because of a lack of knowledge and because we have been deceived and lead astray from God and His truth from the time we were born, being raised up, trained, taught, and conformed to live according to the laws and principles of man, rather than by the laws and principles of God. Well, the time has come. Whether we want to believe it or not, all things are coming to an end (1 Peter 4:7), and the end is surely at hand now. Therefore, we, you and I, should and must return to God, love God, obey God, keep God’s commandments, and live according to God’s laws and principles.
Before reading any further, I encourage you to take a moment or two and think about all that is going on in the world today. Now being aware of all these things that are going on in the world, our country, our state, our city, and our communities, the hatred and bitterness, hunger and sickness, the betrayal, backbiting, slander, etc.—all these are the things Jesus said would take place in the last days. Jesus said (Matthew 24:6–13) in the last days, we will hear of wars and rumors of wars. Well, don’t we? Do you not hear of wars?
How many wars are going on right now even as you are reading this book? Jesus said nations will rise against nations and kingdoms against kingdoms. Even smaller nations will come together and rise against greater nations. Think about it. The Middle East smaller countries, are they not rising against a greater country? Yes, our country, the United States. Think about the Nine-Eleven attack on the New York World Trade Center—an attack of terrorists from a smaller nation.
Think about it, famine, hunger, sickness, and disease spreading everywhere—not just in foreign countries, but right here in America too. What’s the newest 2015 disease that is being talked about now? Ebola? And what about the weather conditions? Earthquakes, hurricanes, tornados, snow and ice storms, fires, and floods popping up in places where you would never have expected them to appear.
We hear of these things every day through the news media and through many other various sources and for some of us, even in our personal life. Well, in my personal life, I have always heard of earthquakes in other parts of the world and various places here in America too, but check this out! As I was sitting on the couch taking a break writing this book on the evening of Friday, February 14, 2014, I, for the first time in my life, experienced an unusual loud roaring sound and felt a strong vibration and force shaking the house. To be honest with you, it sounded as if a freight train was about to come straight through the house. However, little did I know at that time, I was actually experiencing the tremors from a 4.1 earthquake. How amazing that was for me to experience the very thing I was writing about! Well, I was not afraid because I thought the roaring sound, vibration, and shaking of the house was probably from a very huge cargo plane flying low, preparing to land at the Military Base very near to where I live.
Then the following year, October 2015, my home town, Columbia, South Carolina, was hit with a flood. Mind you, Columbia is in the central part of the state. Many homes and businesses were destroyed, and there were a few deaths as well. The flood was a disaster that called on FEMA. Well, the earthquake of 2014 and the flood of 2015 is enough confirmation for me to know just how important it is for me to stop procrastinating and complete the assignment God has given me and write this book. After all, the earthquake and the flood are only two of the many signs Jesus said would be a sign [Matthew 24:4–14] of the End-times.
I was also reminded of other signs of the end-times. Jesus said the heart of many will grow cold. Many will be offended, many will betray one another and hate one another; and lawlessness will (Matthew 24:12) abound. Believe it or not, 2 Timothy 3:1 confirms this truth, telling us in these end-times. Yes, the heart of many will grow cold and lawlessness will abound. Many men and women will be lovers of themselves rather than lovers of God. They will be selfish and without self-control.
They will be lovers of money, boastful, proud, headstrong, brutal, haughty, despisers of good, slanderers, blasphemers, greedy, unloving, unthankful, unforgiving, and unholy. However, Jesus said though these are the end-times, the end is not yet, but (Matthew 24:8) the beginning of our sorrows.
To you—the one who is reading this book—have you observed how ruthless and cold hearted so many people have become? Have you noticed how killing, murdering, stealing, and the likes thereof have increased? Have you noticed how people have little to no respect for others? There are so many people who just do not care about the feelings or well-being of others. Many people do not want to be involved with the needs of the homeless, the sick, the hungry, etc.
Have you noticed how because the hearts of many have grown cold, how lawlessness, crime, and corruption have abounded in every area of life? In our homes, communities, schools, jobs, our government, and yes, even our churches! Lawlessness has abounded in the judicial system in many of our law enforcement agencies. Think about how lawlessness has abounded in the correctional institutions where crime and corruption is just as great on the inside of the walls of the prisons as it is on the outside. Yes, lawlessness is rising to great heights, and it is because the hearts of many have grown cold. Man has become so corrupt that things that were illegal are now legal.
The things that were once spiritually, morally, and biblically wrong are no longer wrong but are now justified. Observing but not judging anyone for how he or she chooses to live their life; but I watch, acknowledge, and see the prophecy of the Bible daily unfold. I am made aware of the things that were once biblically and spiritually wrong, such as not giving regard [Leviticus 19:31] to mediums and familiar spirits; and do not seek after them, to be defiled by them.
People now boldly do. The morally wrong, incest (Leviticus 18:6), no one is to approach anyone who is near of kin; yet it is happening every day. No one is to lie with his or her neighbors (Leviticus 18:20), husband or wife. A man is not to lie with a man as with a woman (Leviticus 18:22), nor is a woman to lie with a woman as with a male. Today, same-sex relationships are acceptable and are now called gay rights. The legal right to lay with whomever we please and even marry the same sex to just boldly do that which the Word of God has instructed us not to do. We are instructed not to make any marks, cuttings, or tattoos (Leviticus 19:28) on our bodies.
Today, tattoos are not only fashionable but a booming business and lifestyle for many people. Has lawlessness as Jesus said it would truly abound?
These are just some of the things mankind has given into, and many people justify their acts of defiance by saying it is Old Testament.
Oh, but how many are there of us who really do not know or just fail to acknowledge as
