This has become a family favourite in my house: To serve leftover vegetables tastefully and appetisingly, line a pie dish with fingers of bread that have been fried brown in bacon fat. Add the vegetables with seasoning and pour over a cup of onion and parsley sauce or good thick gravy. – Wix
