Descrizione
Over the last five years Prosecco’s popularity has risen like bubbles in a glass. An Italian sparkling wine that is easy to drink and hugely popular at parties.
Fruitier and lighter than its French counterpart Champagne, Prosecco is delicious when drunk on its own, but fizzes to life with a splash of color and a little imaginative blending.
Due to its notes of vanilla, tropical fruits and honeycomb it combines perfectly with a variety of spirits, fruits, liqueurs, and botanicals to make the perfect sparkling tipple.
Our sparkling wine combinations will show you how to mix glittering, glamorous cocktails including:
• Lemon and Lavender Fizz
• Prosecco and Whisky Julep
• Sweet Fig and Raspberry
Primo Prosecco is divided into three exciting sections including Botanicals, Classics with a Twist, and Fruit.
Alla tua salute!

Afterthoughts
Introduction
There are many conflicting theories surrounding the history of Prosecco. The most popular, stretches way back to the Roman Empire where ancient records trace the Prosecco grape to the Pucino wine of ancient Rome.
Many believe that Pucino came from a white wine grape called Glera, which is still cultivated today near the village of Prosecco in Trieste. It wasn’t until a little later though that Prosecco made its way into the hills between Valdobbiadene and Conegliano.
Up until 2009, Glera was mostly referred to as Prosecco.
But did you know that Prosecco is currently Italy’s leading wine export?
It has become so hugely popular in Europe and the United States that in 2013 for the very first time in history Prosecco sales figures topped those of Champagne; bringing in a massive 3 billion Euros in profit and putting a huge smile on the face of many proud Italians.
In fact, in the UK in 2016 demand outstripped supply to such an extent that newspapers ran stories warning of a sparkle shortage.
Production is hugely restricted due to the fact that it can only be produced in one very small region of Italy.
In the province of Treviso, between the towns of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene beats the heart of this popular sparkling wine, with a little over one hundred companies supplying the world.
So, consider this, the sparkling wine that delights our taste buds may one day suffer from a global shortage.
Let’s not take Prosecco, our favorite fizz for granted!
