About the Book

Johnny Diamonds is a private detective who’s working alone in his office one late evening. Suddenly he hears a soft knock on his office door and someone walking toward him. Thinking he would be alone working on a case, he’s in shorts and a tank top. He thinks that it must be one of his siblings so he doesn’t get up, but continues to work on his files. After all, who else would come by his office at such a late hour unless they had an appointment and there was nothing in his book of a client that late evening?

When Johnny Diamonds finally looks up, he’s looking at the Blonde Bombshell, dressed like she’s going to a party ‒ and how can he help but notice how beautiful she is. He automatically thinks she must be lost and needs directions to where she wants to go. Then he hears almost in a whisper, Are you Johnny Diamonds, the private detective?

That begins a new adventure for the detective that he will never forget. It begins with murder at Allen Cadera’s hideaway cabin where family, friends, and business associates gather together to celebrate his life, after Allen dies of a supposed heart attack.

The murders at the cabin, remind Johnny of the Agatha Christie novel, And Then There Were None. This new adventure also begins a one-sided love affair for our Detective Diamonds.

Who is this Blonde Bombshell and who’s sending her threatening notes and who wants to kill her? Who killed her husband and the others at the hideaway cabin where no one can leave the grounds?

Before these murders are solved, Johnny falls helplessly in love with Lilly, the Blonde Bombshell, and that begins a whole new story as he tries to convince Lilly that he’s the only one for her to spend the rest of her life with.

About the Author

Chuck and his wife Doni have been missionaries since 1981. They live on the Big Island of Hawaii. They have two children, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

They have helped start churches in the Philippines, Hong Kong, So. Africa and also Taiwan where Chuck ministers four months each year.

They have also done outreaches in Japan, Indonesia and in the mainland USA. They have smuggled Bibles into mainland China and have hiked up mountains in the Philippines while being watched by the New Peoples’ Army, a Communist group that lives and hides in the mountain areas.

Chuck was also arrested in a third world country and faced a year in prison for teaching a seminar on how to be a witness for Christ. After three weeks he was deported and sent back to his home in Hawaii.

He says, Being a Christian is only boring when one makes it boring.

Chuck is one of the Pastors of the Kona Coast Fellowship on the Big Island of Hawaii, and he along with Doni are the Directors of Go Spread His Word Ministries, Inc. founded in 1990.

Hi, I’m Johnny Diamonds; son, uncle, brother and private detective ‒ also single and happy. I’ve been a full-fledged detective now for ten years. Before that, I worked as an assistant to my father. He was a private detective for about twenty years after he retired from the police department.

He enjoyed every minute of it, plus he loved to take me with him on some not so dangerous cases he was working on. He was shot on the job and died four days later. That was over ten years ago and I thank the Lord that I wasn’t with him on that day.

After his death is when I took over the agency. His murder has never been solved and no one seems to know what case he was working on at the time. I’ve tried endlessly, checking all of the files and leads I’ve been given to figure it out, but to no avail. I know that someday I’ll come across the answers that will put the killer or killers away for life. I’ll never give up until I find the killer of my father.

For your information, I have never been married. Close, but I’ve never walked down that aisle and said those two words I do. I’m six-foot-two, eyes of blue as the song goes (actually that was five-foot-two) and work out when possible. I have two sisters and one brother and we all get along well.

I love being a private detective as it keeps the memory of my dad alive. My mom comes in once in a while and cleans up my office, and files all the papers that I never seem to have time to do. Sometimes I leave them on purpose just so she can come to the office. I like having her around.

As you can probably figure out, I have no secretary. I like it that way, even though Mom insists I need one. The secretary dad had retired when I took over the office. Every once in awhile my mom brings in an attractive woman. I never know if it is for a secretary job or a girlfriend for me.

While working alone one night there was a quiet knock on my office door. I responded as I always do, Come in, the door’s open.

As you have most likely figured out, that was when the Blonde Bombshell made her entrance. I was in my walking shorts and tank top leaning back in my office chair with my feet propped up on my desk. I didn’t move, thinking it was my mom or one of my siblings. It was late and no one ever comes by except someone I know
