World's Best Life Hacks - Sarah Devos
FOREWORD
WHAT ARE LIFE HACKS? THEY’RE SMART, GEE, I NEVER WOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF THAT!
SOLUTIONS TO ALL OF LIFE’S DAILY DILEMMAS.
They’re those little tricks that keep you one step ahead of life—ways to use ordinary items for a different purpose, or to transform an object into something entirely new beyond its intended purpose. Or they can just be quick little tips that help you save time, effort, or money. Why make it hard when it can be easy?
The term originates in the computer world: A hack is a small program or practical solution to solve a problem. And a life hack is just that, except it’s no longer limited to your laptop. These days, there’s a life hack for every small area of your life, as you’ll soon see!
So where did all these ideas come from? I made a list of the best hacks I know, dug up my mom’s wise tips, scoured the Internet and sifted through books, and knocked on friends’ and neighbors’ doors. I had one single goal: to collect 200 original, useful life hacks.
One by one I tried them out, with the help of a few friends. If one hack wasn’t good enough, it instantly flew off the Holy List of Life Hacks. Eucalyptus in your shower for a nice sauna scent? Nope, it doesn’t work. A hollowed-out orange half makes a candle? Not a chance.
Some tips you probably already knew. Some you may have forgotten. Who knows, some may blow your mind. So simple, yet so smart! Anyhow, the 200 life hacks in this book really work.
Whether you read this list because you are frugal, lazy, inventive, environmentally conscious, or simply curious, if you have this book your life will never be the same!
I wish you much pleasure in reading and trying these out!
