This is day 13 of my journey towards fluency in Spanish, and I came across this book. Amazingly, I find myself able to understand most of what I read. Granted, I'm a polyglot, but still the contents of this book strikes the exact level a beginner should aim to grasp.

Introduction

Thank you for purchasing, "Spanish Short Stories for Beginners: 21 Entertaining Short Stories to Learn Spanish and Develop Your Vocabulary the Fun Way!"

If you are looking for a fun and easy way to develop your Spanish skills, then you have come to the right place. In this volume, you will find the best way to develop your Spanish skills in no time.

Often, it can be complicated for language learners to find the right type of materials with which to learn a new language and practice what they already know. In fact, there is a myriad of materials out there to choose from.

So, the challenge becomes: where to begin.

The truth is that there are many courses and materials out there, claiming to help people learn Spanish, or any other language, in short order. You might hear promises of learning a language in just a couple of weeks. Some of the more outrageous claims state that you can learn a language in just a few hours.

While it is true that the right methodology can help you improve your skills without having to spend weeks, or even months, in a language school, it is also true that it is not realistic to learn a language with just a couple of lessons.

The truth is learning a language does require work and dedication. Mainly, it is a matter of focus. When you have the right materials in hand, and you are focused on what you want to achieve, learning a language does not become an arduous endeavor. In fact, it can be a lot of fun.

That is why this book presents you with 21 short stories about various topics. These topics are intended to be interesting, fun, and informative. This way, you will not only learn Spanish but also pick up on other interesting topics. After all, isn’t it great that you can learn a language and also practice with some of your favorite topics?

In this volume, you will find that each chapter contains a story. The story is intended to introduce the topic and present the target vocabulary in such a way that you can navigate through the story in an easy and digestible manner. This book is hardly about complex grammar rules and learning the names of everything in the language. This book is all about getting you off the ground in your effort to master this wonderful language.

Then, you will find a summary of the story in Spanish. This summary is meant to serve as a study guide so that you can synthesize your understanding of the topic in a more concise manner. The summary in English will help you to fixate the main idea and topic in your mind. This is intended to serve as a study guide so that you won’t have to guess if your understanding of the story was correct or not.

The multiple-choice questions are intended to help you improve your reading comprehension, vocabulary, and grammar skills. The answers provided at the end of the chapter serve as a means of helping you determine your full comprehension of the story.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that learning a language requires one thing, and that is consistency. So, the more consistent you are in your language-learning endeavors, the easier it will be for you to make progress. While you can still make progress even if you don’t devote quite as much time to it, the progress you see won’t be quite as a significant.

That being said, whether you can devote 15 minutes of your time or one hour a day, the main thing to keep in mind is to be consistent with the amount of time you can dedicate to this book. This way, you can ensure that you will be making progress, even if it’s a little every day.

So, don’t wait any longer. Dedicate a small chunk of your time every day, and allot it to the study of this book. You can surely take 10 or 15 minutes of a lunch hour, commute, or even right before bedtime to learn Spanish. Whether you are looking to learn Spanish for fun, for an upcoming trip or to improve your job skills, you will find that it is not only rewarding but also personally satisfying.

Good luck!

Chapter One

First Day of Class — Primer día de clases

Tengo muchas metas. Pero también estoy muy motivada para lograrlas. Mis padres me apoyan. Con su ayuda, todo es más fácil. Aunque no siempre es fácil lograr las metas, lo importante es hacer un buen esfuerzo. Estoy preparada para dar mi mejor esfuerzo este año. No voy a perder las oportunidades que tengo.

Pero,
