1 BASIC LENTIL DAHL

Stir to combine, then pour in 1 litre of water. Bring to the boil, then turn down the heat and simmer for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the lentils are tender. Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a frying pan, then add 1 tsp each of , and , and fry for a minute or so until fragrant, then stir them through the lentils. Add the juice of a and season. Makes six portions. Will keep for four days in the fridge, or freeze in batches.
