About this ebook

A book of Poems and Prose

Time runs down the

Face of the clock,

Blurring the actual

Moment where we

Play our part,

Unhampered by seconds

Or minutes or hours,

Poised upon the

Turning point of forever.

It is here that we become

All that we can dream

Or be.

    CHAPTER 1:  POEMS

    *****

    Time's Turning

    Time's turning is when

    Leaves morph to gold,

    All richness within showing

    Itself in dazzling colors,

    Fracturing in the sunlit

    Autumn light.

Not a time of sorrow, or

    Regret, but glory and

    Revelation, the fullness of

    Time well-spent,

    Richness like ripe apples,

    Or pumpkins grinning at

    Carnivals of children

    Parading under golden

    Leaves, smoke in the air,

    Festival time, country pies,

    Covered bridges and

    Horse-drawn carriages,

Taking us back to a time

    When the world seemed

    Whole and filled with

    Wonder and mystery and

    All was bounded by

    Lonely country roads.

    All those times, all those

    Memories, resurfacing now,

Like sap drawn up a tree,

    Sweet from the origin of

    My own time, filling the

    Tree of time's turning with

    Luscious colors and

    Ripeness and blazes of

    Lovely remembered light.

    This is the time when

    Forever comes on,

    Welcoming everything,

    The center at the

    Heart of time's turning

    That never turns.

    *****

    The Self Emergent

    Not every flower

    Knows its name.

    It struggles in

    Obscurity, hidden

    From the light,

    Entrenched in pathways

    Innumerable, forever

    Unknown.

    Ah, there will come

    The time when

    Shyness be shed,

    And bold advances

    Be had, the real

    Self emerging, blatant

    As trumpets,

    Strident horns blaring,

    All announced for

    Everyone to see.

    Wait for the moment.

    Let your voice gather

    Urgency and timber,

    Rolling forth over the

    Hills, undeniable,

    Heard by all,

    Shedding grace, hope,

    Beauty to all.

    Flowers of fragrance,

    Flowers of forever,

    Flowers for everyone

    To see.

    *****

    Never the Same

    Time and space can

    Turn in a moment,

    Everything seeming

    The same, but

    Everything juxtaposed,

    Looking like what

    Happened a minute ago,

    Five years ago,

    Without change, yet

    Everything in the

    Depths of life

    Utterly transformed.

    Now is never the same.

    Now is now, and

    Never was before.

    One's life can turn

    On a dime, go from

    Sadness to joy,

    Regret and nothingness

    To loveliness and eyes

    Brimming with anticipation

    Of the turning of the

    Next moment,
